A Danish company has devised a way to avoid throwing away plastic waste by turning it into medals for sporting events in a drive for sustainability.

Regenerative tourism is the new 'brand' in tourism development. The concept goes beyond 'just' sustainable tourism. The idea behind the development of regenerative tourism is that the guest adds value to the local area and leaves the holiday destination in a better state than when they arrived.

At the North Sea they have adopted a new trend

Omhu is a small manufacturer of plastic products in Hvide Sande. The company was opened by business partners Daniel Sano Mirecki and Katrine Kock Frandsen in 2020.

In a new film, VisitDenmark shows that it is easy to make green and sustainable choices on holiday in Denmark. The film plays up to the goal in the national strategy that Denmark should be experienced as the most environmentally friendly travel destination in Northern Europe.

Two surfing entrepreneurs are cleaning up ocean plastic along the west coast and transforming it into new products.

The company Omhu, which primarily works to collect plastic waste on beaches and create usable products from it, has proven to be a sustainable business.

It's a dilemma-filled story of sunshine. In 2018, Ringkøbing-Skjern Municipality set up pallet boxes along the municipality's entire 52 kilometers of the West Sea coast. Last year, a record amount of marine waste was collected in the boxes.
